The Skin Pricks or Scratch Allergy Testing

Skin test is allergy testing done on the skin, a small number of the substances suspected to cause the allergy into the skin to make contacting and provoke the allergy. Skin test usually takes about half an hour to maximum an hour as the body reacts almost instantly if there are any allergic reactions to the substance used.

This is a fast and sure way to find out if you are allergic to something that you suspect you are but not sure. You can conduct this test with several other suspected substances at the same time to find the right culprit and a possible treatment as well.

Intradermal Allergy Testing

Intradermal are of skin test type and much used to diagnose allergy and to test cellular immunity. An agent or pollen into the skin to test the reaction it provokes. Severally this test is much used to determine and diagnose the allergic reaction.

RAST (radioallergosorbent test) Testing

RAST stands for RadioAllergoSorbent Test; RAST (radioallergosorbent Test) is done on a sample blood. RAST (radioallergosorbent test) is used to check allergy sensitivity to specific substance.

These test measures the level of allergies antibodies in the body or more precisely of a specific type of antibodies known as IgE, IgE that are only present when an allergic reaction occurs. These blood tests may not be as effective as skin testing and tend to be more expensive, but can be useful sometimes.
